Orgullosamente, celebramos a México en su independencia

We proudly celebrate Mexico in its independence

In Mexico we are proudly Mexican. Our culture is more than abundant and beautiful, with infinite things to offer. Today, September 16, we celebrate another year of the independence of Mexico. And at Acapella we thought it was an excellent idea to write about our country with the things we love most about it, to honor it on this great day of celebration. Read on to discover some of the reasons why Mexicans are proudly Mexican.

1. Our history

We admire our history, and witnessing the wonders that our ancestors did always leaves us speechless. From the incredible Aztec calendar, to our unreal archaeological sites, including the Pyramid of the Sun, the Pyramid of the Moon, and of course, the majestic ancient city of Chichén Itzá, one of the seven wonders of the world.

2. The unbeatable food

As Mexicans we also enjoy our exquisite food. Mexico has one of the best gastronomy in the world… without question! And we love to enjoy joy, community, and togetherness through our food. Tacos, mole, tamales, aguachile, chilaquiles, ceviche, guacamole, pozole, picadillo, chiles en nogada, tres leches cake, flan, tequila, mezcal (to name a few)... Mexican gastronomy is full of flavor, it has a variety of more , and our dishes are a work of art.

3. The amazing art

And speaking of art, Mexican art is impressive. Headed by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, considered two of the best artists of all time worldwide. And beyond these two historical painters, art is part of our country. You can see it in our architecture, murals, traditions, structures, customs, and clothing, in the present and throughout our history. And the wonders do not stop there.

4. The natural beauty of our country

Mexico is a beautiful country, with incredible views and paradises. With beautiful beaches, crystalline seas, lots of green jungle, and even desert, Mexico is one of the most biodiverse places in the world.

5. The culture

As Mexicans we are proud to share nationality with sensational, internationally recognized writers such as Octavio Paz, Juan Rulfo, Jaime Sabines, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Elena Poniatowska, and Rosario Castellanos. Music is also another great passion of Mexicans, as has been demonstrated by Pedro Infante, Luis Miguel, Vicente Fernández, Alejandro Fernández, Juan Gabriel, Thalía, Paulina Rubio, Julieta Venegas, and Natalia Lafourcade.

6. The perseverance and passion of its people

As Mexicans, we live to carry the name of our country high in all areas, including sports, science, entrepreneurship, the arts, fashion, and everything in between. We are workers, and we want to achieve our goals. And we love to master and exceed the expectations that they have of us, and the prejudices that other people have of our country.

It is little to say that Mexicans are passionate about our country. And this same pride in being Mexican unites us even more.

Happy Independence Day and Happy Holidays from Acapella!
Long live Mexico!
