May: Mental Health Awareness Month

At Acapella we like to use our platform to bring attention to relevant topics. The subject of mental health is one of the most important topics that exists today, and it became essential for us to write about it this week, since May is the month of mental health.

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being . It affects the way we think, feel and act, and can even affect our physical state. It also helps determine how we handle stress and how we relate to others. Indeed, mental health is extremely important at all stages of life.

The stigma around the subject of mental health and the importance of taking care of it has always existed, and although it has improved in recent years, there are still people who are hesitant to seek help or even hesitate to talk to their loved ones for fear of being judged. . Although more and more people are changing their perspective on mental health, we still have a long way to go. By talking more about it and giving it the attention and recognition it deserves, we help normalize it and encourage more research on mental health and mental illness.

When we are mentally healthy, we enjoy life, our environment, and the loved ones around us more. We are able to better deal with difficult situations that may arise in our personal and professional lives. Taking everything into consideration, taking care of our mental health allows us to be our best selves and reach our full potential. For this reason, it is extremely important to recognize and accept our emotions, and give them the attention they deserve.

Some of the benefits of having good mental health include:

  • anxiety reduction
  • better moods
  • Clear mind, which results in better decisions
  • Increased sense of calm or inner peace
  • increased self esteem
  • Increased energy and motivation
  • Reduced risk of depression and other disorders
  • better relationships

To raise awareness of mental health through our brand, Acapella even collaborated with Anna Sarelly ( @annasarelly ) to launch Acapella x Anna Sarelly, “It's Okay Not To Be Okay” to honor our feelings and give them the importance they deserve. deserve. Life is full of ups and downs, and our emotions help us navigate it all. However, those same emotions do not define us, and the collection reminds us that it is okay not to be okay . Human beings are amazing, and we are capable of amazing things when our minds and bodies work together. When we hurt ourselves or our body, we seek treatment to heal that wound. The same goes for our mental well-being, as physical and mental health are both equally important components of overall health.
